Ciao Italia! Bidding Italy a Fond Farewell

It was the job opportunity of a lifetime to spend 3 years in Italy, and we are so glad we went for it. We made lots of new friends and hosted over 50 Canadian visitors in our wonderful rental home in Lerici. Finally our Italian adventure has come to and end.

Farewell, lemon tree and sunny back yard.
Farewell, beautiful views from our rooftop balcony.
Farewell, downtown Lerici.
Farewell, roundabouts everywhere you go.
Farewell, enchanting trails and luscious lilacs.
Farewell, plethora of dog friendly shops and businesses.
Bosco really enjoyed going to the mall.
Farewell, dog friendly public buses, trains and ferries. No longer can Bosco commute whilst musing “another day, another dollar”.
Farewell, Kiwi the amazing but terrifying mysterious creature.
Farewell, Minu the walker stalker who never comes within sniffing range.
Farewell, wonderful friends with whom we shared so many good times.
Farewell, eating fabulous Italian food outdoors with friends (and sometimes Clarinet Man).
Farewell, hiking buddy.
We got Bosco a seat belt harness for the long drive.
And we packed up Old Smokey and headed north.
We passed glaciers as we crossed the Alps.
We stopped in Geneva for a visit with Leslie and Renzo.
We crossed France and drove aboard the Channel Tunnel train.
We crossed “the Chunnel” and reached the white cliffs of Dover.

Farewell Old Smokey!

To be continued…

You forgot to say Farewell to all the delicious easily affordable Italian wines….but this is a lovely tribute to three years well spent…and shared❣️

Can’t we make it au revoir instead of adieu? Maybe 3 more years sometime soon ? Kiwi is honored to be included here! She misses her big scaredy-dog friend.

Au revoir it is! I’ll be back for work before too long, though I think Kiwi will have to come to North America if they’re going to fureunite.
