Northern Italy’s Piemonte region’s capital is home to much more than the famous shroud of Turin. The birthplace of the slow food movement is rife with culinary delights, including some of the world’s finest wines (e.g. Barolo, Nebbiolo, and Barbera varieties) and hazelnut chocolates (e.g. Nutella and Guido Gobino). Torino was Italy’s first capital city (1861) and home to their royal family, the House of Savoy. Other notables include Fiat and Alpha Romeo headquarters. Relatedly, unlike in Canada, ground beef is generally served rare in Italy, and you can also often even get it raw (cruda)!Castello del Valentino is in the middle of a beautiful park on the Po RiverFound the off-leash dog section of Parco del Valentino, which is actually pretty small and dirty, but Bosco still had fun!Bosco made lots of dog friends in the beautiful Piazza Castello. These European tourists got a kick out of us saying “good boy” to him.
